Arrived in Poland and hungry, but do not feel like going out? Food delivery here is excellent — there are several apps, each with its own strengths. Let us figure out what to choose so you eat fast without overpaying.
The main delivery apps
The most popular in Poland is Pyszne.pl (the local Just Eat). It has the most restaurants, especially in smaller towns. Second is Wolt: a Finnish app with a nice interface and fast delivery, strong in big cities like Warsaw and Krakow. There is also Glovo and Bolt Food — the latter is often cheaper on delivery.
Tip: the delivery fee for the same restaurant can differ across apps. If you order often, keep two and compare.
How to pay
All apps accept foreign cards. But locals usually pay with BLIK — a Polish instant-payment system using a code from your banking app. If you stay long, it is worth setting up. For foreigners, Revolut is easiest — works everywhere with no extra fees.
What else helps
If you eat in a restaurant rather than order in, a Polish menu can be confusing. Google Translate translates from a photo — point your camera and read the ingredients. For navigation to the café use Google Maps.
A word on groceries
Besides ready meals, Bolt Food and Glovo can deliver groceries from the supermarket in about half an hour — handy in the evening. For larger orders Poles often use InPost parcel lockers.
Bottom line
The minimum set: Pyszne.pl or Wolt for food, Google Translate for menus, Google Maps to find your way. With this you will not go hungry in Warsaw or a small town.
